Teaching Ministry Flow
Consume the Word until it consumes you.
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 TIMOTHY 2:15)
There are few things that do as much damage to the message of Christ as hypocrisy. We greatly offend both believers and unbelievers alike when we preach the Word of truth, but then deny the message of Christ by our lifestyle. Unbelievers and believers alike will reject our message, even if it’s true, when our lives aren’t approved before God.
The Word of God exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. The Word of truth will change our hearts, renew our thinking and radically redefine the way we live, if we allow it to. We must consume the Word until it consumes and transforms every part of our being.
It has often been said that if we have the Word without the Spirit, then we will dry up; if we have the Spirit without the Word, then we will blow up, but if we have the Word and the Spirt then we will grow up. This reveals the two non-negotiable components for a healthy spiritual life. We need the Word and the Spirit to grow up.
When we read, study and meditate on God’s Word then we’re allowing the light of God to shine on our lives. How can we preach to others what we haven’t first applied ourselves? God’s Word is a double-edged sword; we must allow it to cut to our own hearts and minds, before we can begin to use it to bring about change in others.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (JOHN 1:14)
When the Word becomes flesh in our own lives, then the integrity of the message of Christ will remain intact and the impact of the message taught, will be multiplied many times over.
